Artefact production-part 1

Time management,screenshots and recordings

Above you will see my gantt chart for what I intend on doing during the first week of the project all split into 7 days with each part having been given a specific day to be done on.

Terrain model

Below you will see a completed version of my terrain. This was done using the sculpting tools within the unreal engine. Specifically the erosion tool in order for me to get the dips in the landscape. Then the sculpt tool in order for me to create things like to rocky hills. The grass within specific areas was created within Maya and edited within unreal in order to get the wind effect that it has on it. This will also be used as a V1 of my project and projects later down the line will have things added onto them this is going to be done so if I lose the file or it goes corrupt then I wont have completely lost the project.

Below is the material and values for the wind that I have put on my grass.

Below is after ading 2 different trees to the project therefore completing one part of the terrain that I needed to create. I used an outside source for the tree this is where I got it from:
Tree 1:

Tree 2: I created within maya using the content browser in order to paint it.
Below you will see a video of my character running through the forest.

The reason I used the shades of green for the environment seen above is because during my research into forests they were very green and looked like they were filled with life. I used this to give the impressions that the forest is full of life this can be seen within the trees as well as with the grass. The same process will be followed whilst finishing the environment following the colour schemes of both the saharan grasslands environement as well as my rocky landscape. This is so I can fit each theme I am aiming to achieve for example for the rocky landscape I will use darker colours this is to get across the thought that its very dull and colourless.
